Know Your Buffets
Once upon a time, Vegas was bargain city, especially if you weren’t gambling. However, as hotel restaurants began to be expected to actually make profits, rather than simply attract gamblers with loss leader specials, amazing bargains became less common. On the other hand, the arrival of world class dining also raised the bar in terms of quality even at the traditionally less snooty buffets. The best buffets in Vegas, like those at Buffet Bellagio, the Carnival World Buffet at Rio Las Vegas, and the Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan, are considerably more expensive than food fests of yore with prices as high as $35.00 or $40.00, but the quality is such that they can often please even discerning foodies, and that’s kind of a bargain if you arrive good and hungry.
